Submit Work
At Vindigo Press, we’re drawn to authentic writing that feels intentional and alive—stories that open up new ways of seeing, feeling, and being in the world. We value creativity, craft, and courage, and we’re always looking for work that reflects that. If that’s the kind of story you’re writing, we hope you’ll consider sharing it with us.
We’re currently looking for passionate writers based in Southern Africa who:
- Care deeply about books and the power of storytelling;
- Have been writing for some time and can share a portfolio or previous work;
- Are committed to the process of growing as an author; and
- Are willing and able to engage with readers and help share their work.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
What to Submit
Please send us the following materials:
- Your author biography (<1 page)
- A summary of the book (<1 page)
- The first chapter of your manuscript
- A short video (<5 mins) filmed on your phone, where you tell us:
- What you’ve written;
- Why you wrote it;
- Who it’s for; and
- How you hope to promote it.
We understand that this kind of submission process can feel vulnerable, and we appreciate the care it takes to put your work forward. So, thank you for taking the time to share your words and worlds with us!
As a small imprint with limited resources, we may take some time to respond to each submission. While we won’t be able to offer detailed feedback to everyone, we try our best to get in touch within six weeks of submission.
Please submit to the following email address: submissions@vindigopress.com
AI Policy:
Works created wholly or predominantly using generative artificial intelligence (AI) may not qualify for copyright protection and Vindigo Press does not accept such works. However, we recognise that certain electronic tools may be helpful for spelling, grammar, editing and improving clarity (i.e. ‘AI assist’ tools). We therefore ask that all submissions include a statement outlining the extent (if any) that AI was used to produce the submission.
